US RAPPER PAYS TRIBUTE TO VYBZ KARTEL

Ex-boyfriend of platinum selling rapper Nicki Minaj, Safaree Samuels has released a song called computers in which he pays tribute to incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel.

The single Computers will be featured on Safaree’s debut mixtape called It is what it is to be released in coming months. The single sees Safaree attempting to deejay lines from Vybz Kartel’s single BrooklynAnthem which draws attention to inner-city life especially in Brooklyn, New York.

The promotional photos for the single show Safaree advocating for Vybz Kartel’s freedom, he along with members of his team wearing black t-shirts with printed image ‘Free Vybz Kartel’.

Also mentioned on the ‘Free Vybz Kartel’ shirts, are incarcerated rappers Bobby Shmurda who blew up last year with the single Hot Ni@@a, Rowdy Rebel and the GS9 crew.

“This is me paying homage to Vybz Kartel, respect straight. Gaza mi sey free Vybz Kartel. It is what it is, a work mi a work. I just spent some money on some Bobby t-shirts, Rowdy and Vybz Kartel free di man dem. You can’t block blessings and you can’t hide talent life is too short, live it to the fullest. Retaliation and all that will get you nowhere but dead or in jail,” Safaree posted on his Instagram.

Vybz Kartel was featured on the remix of the single Twerk It in 2013 released under Cash Money Records. The original version of the song currently has over 20 million views on YouTube.com and also featured Busta Rhymes and Nicki Minaj.
