The juror is alleged to have visited the offices of a defence attorney over the Christmas holidays, seeking audience with the lawyer. The lawyer did not entertain the juror, it was further alleged.
The matter was reportedly brought to the attention of the presiding judge, Justice Lennox Campbell, and previously discussed in a meeting that included attorneys for the Crown and the defendants in the case.
Meanwhile the voir dire (trial within a trial) to determine whether certain evidence should be heard by the jurors continues today (Tuesday, January 7).
Jurors were instructed by the court to return on Thursday, January 9.
